Sibert was initially brought on as the volunteer assistant and in the spring of 2018 and was named as assistant coach on June 13, 2018.
He holds many responsibilities at USF, including the duties of recruiting and camp coordinator, managing equipment, video breakdown for the team and assisting with social media.
“I am really excited to have Caleb Sibert join our staff in a full-time capacity”, said head coach Courtney Draper. “He made a big impact on our team this spring while being our volunteer assistant and he showed what kind of person and coach he truly is. I think this is going to be a great transition for both Caleb and the team. I know our athletes have a very high level of respect for Caleb and his knowledge of the game. I’m confident that Caleb will help propel our team to the next level.”
Sibert worked primarily with the setters in his first season at USF. Senior Briana Stowell led the team with 807 assists, finishing second on the Bulls with 11 double-doubles. Freshman Lauren LaBeck made tremendous strides throughout the season, appearing in every set over the final seven matches of the year. LaBeck averaged 34.4 assists per match during the final seven contests and tallied 474 assists on the year.
Sibert had been the head coach at Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater since 2010. In his eight seasons, Calvary Christian went 141-62. His teams won no fewer than 20 games from 2012-16, reaching the regional semifinals in four of the five years.
In 2014, Sibert founded Dynamic Volleyball Training, teaching and preparing athletes to compete at both the club and AAU level. He serves as the DVT Club Director and Lead Trainer.
“I am honored and humbled for this opportunity to coach at such an excellent university,” said Sibert. “I believe in the leadership of the USF volleyball program and I'm passionate about helping student athletes with success both on and off the court. I am especially grateful for head coach, Courtney Draper, and the athletic department for making this a possibility for my family and me. I will bring a positive attitude to this program as we continue to create a culture of excellence. I look forward to serving this university and community in the days ahead.”
Sibert belongs to several organizations and has a plethora of volleyball accreditations. He is a USA Volleyball member, is USA Volleyball Indoor IMPACT and Beach IMPACT certified, and is a USA Volleyball Beach High Performance Court Coach and an AAU Volleyball member.
Prior to moving to Florida in 2009, Sibert assisted with the volleyball program at Indiana Wesleyan University. He has helped coach position clinics at the University of Toledo, Florida Southern College and the University of Tampa.
The Indiana native graduated from Indiana Wesleyan in 2009 with a degree in Physical Education. He and his wife, Brooke, reside in Clearwater with their children, Kinsley and Avalyn.
