Mike Minyard was named the Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement at the University of South Florida in December 2022. Minyard serves as a member of the department's senior staff. Mike has over 10 years of athletic department senior leadership experience including sport supervision oversight along with focused experience in all areas of external operations.

Minyard arrived to USF after overseeing the external units at California Baptist University (2018-22) and Austin Peay State University (2017-18) while also serving as the sport supervisor for a variety of programs including men's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's water polo, and women's cross country and track & field.

Mike was the Associate Athletics Director for External Relations while at California Baptist. He served as a member of the department's executive leadership team and senior staff through a successful four-year transition to the NCAA Division I level. The Lancers experienced record support setting new marks in a variety of attendance and revenue categories. Men's basketball attendance has ranked fourth among the 15 NCAA Division I programs in Southern California, trailing only San Diego State, UCLA and USC.

Prior to CBU, Minyard was the Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs at Austin Peay in Clarksville, TN where he was a member of the senior staff for nearly two years. The Govs raised a school-record $4.75M through donations, sponsorships and ticket sales in 2017-18.  Minyard also helped secure naming rights for the club level of the football stadium.

Minyard also previously served as the Associate Athletics Director for Sales & Promotions at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA from 2012 to 2017. He was a member of the athletics department's senior staff, overseeing the department’s sales and marketing units, and assisting in the execution of a strategic plan that led to the announced move to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level in February 2017.

A native of Tulsa, OK, Mike also brings experience from his time at his alma mater Oral Roberts University, where he served in a variety of roles for 11 years in both a full-time and student assistant capacity.

Minyard has led award-winning marketing staffs at multiple institutions. Recently, he was selected by industry peers as a top marketing administrator in college athletics by receiving an invitation to the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Veterans Summit. Minyard's marketing teams have collected numerous NACMA ‘Best Of’ Awards during his career:

Minyard holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from ORU and a master's degree in Information Technology Management with a concentration in Business Analytics from CBU.

Mike and his wife, Katie, a former cross country and track & field student-athlete at Gardner-Webb University, reside in Tampa with their son, Memphis, and rescue dog, Murphy.
