TAMPA -- Former Bulls are being scooped up left and right by NFL teams one day after the Draft.
On Monday afternoon Marc Dile, Jarriett Buie and Cedric Hill agreed to rookie tryouts with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The trio will be at One Buc Place on Thursday when the first NFL rookie mini camp begins.
Louis Gachette will be about four hours south on Thursday as he works out for Miami Dolphins and Richard Clebert, who completed his college career in 2007, will heads west to workout for the New Orleans Saints.
Dile played in every game and started 12 times during the 2008 season when he worked at left and right tackle. He was a workhorse throughout years in Green and Gold and tied the USF career record for games played (51) and is among the USF leaders in career starts (36). The Miami native graded out at 74 percent on the season, while ranking second on the team with 67 knockdowns.
Buie had his most productive season as a senior in 2008. He started every game and finished the year with five sacks for minus 32 yards. All five sacks came in the final eight games of the season. Buie also tallied eight tackles for loss of 38 yards.
Hill played in every game in 2008 when he was named second team All-BIG EAST by the league's coaches and third team by Phil Steele. The Georgia native pulled in 16 receptions for 194 yards. His single game high was four catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns in win over UCF. He also reeled in multiple catches on four occasions. The multi-dimensional tight end is among several players tied for the USF career record in games played with 51. He enter senior season with a streak of 19 consecutive games with a reception.
Gachette played in all 13 games and started four times. He finished his career with 49 games played, which ranks seventh best in program history. The Immokalee native saw the most significant playing time of his career during his senior season when he played primarily at strong safety and nickel back. Gachette posted a career-best 11 tackles against Rutgers and finished 2008 with 37 total tackles.
Clebert spent time in the Canadian Football League during the most recent football season before returning to Tampa to put the finishing touches on his academic degree.
The five players still have plenty of work to do before officially making an NFL roster.
Taurus Johnson (Chiefs), Ryan Schmidt (Titans) and Matt Huners (49ers) have a little more security because they have signed free agent deals.
Linebacker Tyrone McKenzie was the lone Bull selected in the 2009 NFL Draft. He was picked in the third round by the New England Patriots.
