Women's Soccer Records Third Shutout in a Row, defeats Mercer, 2-0

Macon, Ga. (September 9, 2005) The USF Women's Soccer team recorded its third-straight shutout of the season against Mercer, 2-0, Friday night in Macon, Ga.
Defense was the name of the match for the Bulls (3-1-0) as goalkeeper Casey Garrett recorded 11 saves on 13 shots to cement her third shutout in a row.
The first goal for USF came off the foot of Jenny Mulvihill at the 47th minute off a loose ball at the top of the box. Mulvihill put the game away with her second goal off an assist from inside the box from Paulina McIntosh in the 62nd minute.
With a 2-0 lead, Mercer pressured Garrett in the final 20 minutes of the match when she made two diving saves to earn the shutout.
This marks Mulvihill's fourth goal in three matches. She led the team in shots with three.
The Bulls will finish off the Mercer LQ Cup on Sunday when they face Longwood at Noon.
