Florida Game Postponed

TAMPA ? The University of South Florida softball doubleheader against Florida scheduled for Wednesday in Gainesville, Fla., has been postponed.
“The last thing we thought about today is softball,” head coach Ken Eriksen said. “The first and only concern was the health of Cristi Ecks. I saw Cristi tonight and she is relaxed and resting at the hospital. Our program feels truly blessed that tonight's medical reports are positive.
“After the unnerving events of today, we asked Florida if we could postpone our game scheduled to be played in Gainesville on Wednesday and they kindly agreed. We will take the day to regroup and recuperate as a team.”
USF will get on the road this weekend for a pair of BIG EAST doubleheaders. The Bulls will travel to New Jersey to take on Rutgers University on Saturday, followed by Sunday's contest against the Wildcats in Villanova, Penn. Both doubleheaders are scheduled for a 12 p.m. start.
