• Lots of coverage from USF's partnership with Apple, starting with a short article on Wired Magazine's website and an article on CNNMoney.com. Before playing the MAC, USF becomes the Mac, in reference to Mid-American Conference opponent Northern Illinois in the International Bowl. In addition, coverage about the one-of-a-kind arrangement can also be found on macsimumnews.com, macnn.com, notebooks.com, as well as tuaw.com.

• USF head coaches Stan Heath and Jose Fernandez spoke to the media Wednesday concerning their teams and their upcoming games this weekend, with lots of news to go around. Click here to watch the on demand video of Heath's interview, and click here for Fernandez' interview.

• Some of the biggest news was that forward Augustus Gilchrist will miss more than a month with a sprained ankle, and freshman Jordan Dumars will transfer following the fall semester to be closer to his Detroit home. The loss of Gilchrist creates a vacuum in the frontcourt for USF.

• Senior quarterback Matt Grothe will be honored with the 2009 Distinguished Service Award by the University of South Florida Polytechnic at its Dec. 14 commencement, as the local product helped connect central Florida with USF in ways that hadn't been done before. Without Grothe and other key players back, the Bulls will face some questions as they eventually make their way to 2010.

• Heath was named to the BIG EAST All-Twitter Team - yes, there is an All-Twitter Team - by Digital Hoops Blast, a respected blog by Nike Director of Brand Marketing Andy Pawlowski.

• More honors were bestowed upon USF's athletes, as linebacker Kion Wilson and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul were tabbed to the All-BIG EAST First Team, as voted on by the league's coaches. Four other players earned all-league honors as well.

• Seniors Marcela Gurgel and Alli Arbogast earned spots on the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Northeast Region Team.

• Brian Bennett highlights the All-BIG EAST selections, while also giving a recap of USF's regular season as he did with all BIG EAST teams.

• Sophomore Shaniel Chambers is this week's Nesquik Student-Athlete of the Week. Click here to watch the interview with the criminology major as well as all the past winners.
