On Augustus Gilchrist...
"Well, there is lots of news in basketball. I thought it would be a slow week, but Monday, Augustus Gilchrist severely sprained his ankle. He will be out until late January, early February. Somewhere in there. We will probably know a little bit more early next week. So, with that, we will be working on our four guards. Toarlyn Fitzpatrick will have to step up. The whole team will have to step up with rebounding and scoring."
On Jordan Dumars...
"Secondly, Jordan Dumars will be transferring. He wants to go closer to home. He loved his experience here. He liked being on the team, but he just felt that he wanted to be closer to home."
On Anthony Crater...
"Anthony Crater will join our team. Well, actually, his status will be more defined next week, in terms of when he can join our team. That is kind of it."
On Central Michigan...
"We will have Central Michigan on Sunday at 2 p.m. in a double-header with the women. They are a very physical basketball team. Their coach, Ernie Zeigler, is a former assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh and UCLA. So, we will see a style very similar to Pittsburgh, who we will obviously face later on in the year. It is a game after we have had a long layoff. We will probably have a little rust. We are trying to do more scrimmaging and competitive things to try and make sure that we stay at the same pace. We have been off to a good start. This is another phase of our season. There are four more games until we start conference play. We need to be progressing towards playing some of our best basketball to get ready for that."
