Up Next: Rutgers - Friday at 7 - Saturday at 7 - Sunday at 1

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ? Thanks to back-to-back complete game performances by University of South Florida pitchers, the Bulls took home a 7-0 victory over FAMU on Wednesday afternoon and completed a two-game sweep of the Rattlers on their home field.

Freshman Matt Reed struck out five in his nine innings on the hill, allowing no runs and only four hits while walking two.

The Bulls pitching staff has allowed only one run in 23.2 innings of work dating back to the fourth inning against Bethune-Cookman on March 16.  Sophomore lefty Teddy Kaufman gave up one run in a complete-game effort yesterday against the Rattlers.

Three Bulls tallied two-hit outings ? Todd Brazeal, Mike Consolmagno and Peter Brotons. Brazeal, Consolmagno and Trey Manz each had a double.

The Bulls capitalized on FAMU errors early as Jonathan Koscso struck out, but reached third on a throwing error with one out in the first inning. Sam Mende reached on a fielder's choice as FAMU attempted to pick off Koscso, but another throwing error allowed the Bulls' thirdbaseman to retreat to the bag. Brazeal drove in both Koscso and Mende with a sharp line drive double down the third base line, putting the Bulls ahead 2-0. The two-bagger is Brazeal's fifth of the year.

The Bulls added a pair of runs over the next two innings. With two outs in the fifth, Mende singled to left field, and advanced to third on a fielding error by FAMU. Brazeal reached on an error by the FAMU shortstop, which allowed Mende to score.

In the sixth, Daniel Rockhold was hit by a pitch, then scored after a single to left field by Brotons was bobbled by the FAMU fielder.

The Bulls added two in the eighth and one in the ninth to wrap up the 7-0 victory.

In the eighth, Rey was hit by a pitch, then was replaced by pinch runner Junior Carlin. Manz doubled to left field, advancing Carlin to third. Consolmagno sent a base hit up the middle, scoring both Carlin and Jordy McGillis, who pinch ran for Manz.

The Bulls enter BIG EAST play this weekend in the midst of the three-game winning streak.  USF will play RUtgers in  a three-game set this weeekend: Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Rutgers is 8-8 on the young season and has lost three of its last four games.  The Scarlet Knights play at FAU tonight before traveling up to Tampa.
