QUEENS, N.Y. ? In game two of the Saturday afternoon double header the Bulls failed to keep the momentum rolling from game one, as the Bulls fell short in the second game of the doubleheader, 2-0, to the Red Storm.
"We are playing good softball," said USF softball head coach Ken Eriksen. "We cannot do much about the whims of luck for the other teams right now. We took advantage of our opportunity today in the first game and we just have to persevere right now."
USF scattered three hits over seven innings of play but did not piece any together to put a run on the scoreboard.
Sophomore Kelly McCarver led the Bulls with two hits, with freshman Janine Richardson wrapping the other.
St. John's scored the only runs of the game in the second inning on three hits.
Kat Lawrence (12-9) earned the win for the Red Storm tossing all seven innings, while senior Cristi Ecks received the loss throwing 5.1 innings.
The Bulls return back in action tomorrow to take on Seton Hall in another doubleheader. First pitch of game one is set for 11 a.m.
