Reid Picks Up BIG EAST Player of the Week Honors

TAMPA - Junior Venicia Reid of the University of South Florida women's soccer team was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week following her performance this past weekend.

Reid earns the honors after totaling six points in a 2-0-0 week for the Bulls. The junior had a hand in all four goals the team scored last week. In a 2-0 win over St. John's on Oct. 22, Reid had a goal and an assist. In a 2-1 victory over Syracuse on Oct. 24, Reid had a goal and an assist. She scored the first USF goal in each contest.

Reid is now tied with fellow junior Chelsea Klotz, who recorded the second assist on Chantelle Goodsen's goal, for the team lead in points with 24. Reid leads the team with eight assists on the season.

Reid's eight assists are sixth most in a single season by a Bull and the most since Siri Nordby's school record 13 in 1998.

Reid and the Bulls will now begin preparation for their second consecutive BIG EAST Championship. USF will be the No. 3 seed out of the American Division. The Bulls will get a bye into the quarterfinals. They will travel to play No. 2 seed Georgetown in the nation's capital on Sunday, October 31.
