
No. 66 Bulls Beat San Diego State 4-1

Sophomore Wael Kilani and sophomore Yannick Yoshizawa started out the day for USF in their No. 2 doubles match against Giovanni Vaglietti and Vladimirschii. KIlani and Yoshizawa downed Vaglietti and Vladimirschii 8-2.
Freshman Peter Frank and junior Romain Deridder competed against Andre Feliz and Tim Schultz Van Endert in the No. 3 doubles position. Frank and Deridder fell to Feliz and Van Endert 8-4.
With each team having won one doubles match it would all come down to the No. 1 doubles match to decide who would have the 1-0 advantage heading into singles competition. Senior Thomas Estrada and junior Jamal Adderley competed in the No. 1 singles spot against Juan Gomez and Luis Rattenhuber. Both teams managed to keep things close and when it was all said and done Estrada and Adderley would be the ones walking away with the 8-6 win. That gave the Bulls the 1-0 advantage heading into singles competition.
No. 104 Kilani started out singles competition for USF with a win. Kilani competed against Gomez in the No. 1 singles position and he took care of Gomez in two sets 6-4, 6-1. That gave the Bulls their second point of the day.
Deridder competed in the No. 4 singles spot against Feliz. After winning the first set 6-2, Driddder would go on to lose the next two sets 6-2, 6-2. That closed the Bulls lead to one.
Frank took on Vaglietti in the No. 3 singles spot. After losing the first set 6-1, Frank would fight back and win the next two sets 7-6, 6-4. The Bulls now led 3-1 over San Diego State.
Adderley helped seal the win for the Bulls in his No. 2 singles match against Vladimirschii. After falling in the first set 6-2, Adderley would make a comeback and win the next two sets 7-6, 6-2. That gave the Bulls the fourth and final point they needed to pick up the win over San Diego State.
Sophomore Mark Oljaca competed in singles action for the Bulls on Friday against Rattenhuber. Oljaca won the first set 7-6 and had lost the second set 6-2 before the match was ended.
Freshman Juan Carlos Acuna Gerard competed against Van Endert in the No. 6 singles spot. Acuna fell 6-2 in the first set but went on to win the second set 6-3. Acuna was down 3-0 in the third set when the match was ended.
