The USF men's tennis team
battled up until the end with No. 25 LSU, but couldn't come away with a
win.
The Bulls lost to the Tigers
4-3 after more than four hours of play at W.T. Robinson Stadium in
Baton Rouge on Tuesday afternoon.
Unable to get the doubles
point, USF came into singles competition ready to play.
The No.1 and No. 2 singles
players for USF were able to come away with victories against LSU's
two ranked players.
Wael Kilani beat No. 71
Oliver Borsos at the No. 1 position, 6-4, 1-6, 6-1. This is his first
win over a ranked player on the season.
Yannick Yoshizawa won in
three sets against No. 85 Neal Skupski, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, to give USF
their second point. This is also Yoshizawa's first win over a ranked
player.
Ravi Patel was able to add
the third point, winning in three sets, 3-6, 7-6, 5-1.
Two of the other three
singles players were able to push their opponents into three sets,
but were unable to win in the last set.
The Bulls will return home
on Thursday to play South Alabama at 12:00 p.m.
