PITTSBURGH - In freshman second baseman Sydney Dinelli's first career start, she was extremely busy.

Dinelli handed eight ground balls cleanly at second base, including a diving stop and throw from her knees as No. 21 USF (32-5 overall, 5-0 Big East) shut out Pittsburgh 4-0 in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Freshman pitcher Sam Greiner tossed 6 2/3 innings, forcing 11 groundouts and striking out three as the Bulls faced three batters over the minimum to send the Panthers to their fifth straight Big East loss.

USF got to Pittsburgh early, putting up three runs in the first inning. The Bulls loaded the bases, and put their first run on the board as Janine Richardson scalded a ball through the hole on the left side. USF added another run on Jessica Mouse's sacrifice fly, and scored its third on an error.

Mouse provided the fourth run on her own, leading off the fourth inning with a line-drive home run to center field, and the lead held as USF finished its 17th shutout of the year.

Stephanie Medina's 10-game hitting streak came to an end with an 0-3 effort. Kourtney Salvarola went 1-2 with a single, finishing the day with three hits.
