USF Softball Falls to No. 10 Arkansas

South Florida will face the winner of the Washington versus Fordham game in an elimination game

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (May 16, 2026) – The University of South Florida softball team returned to Bogel Park on Saturday for day two of the NCAA Regional. South Florida (43-16) fell to No. 10 Arkansas (44-11) by a 9-1 score in six innings.  
 
Alex Wilkes extended her hitting streak to 11 games. Alexa Galligani has recorded a hit in each of the past five games.
 
Arkansas jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Razorbacks scored their runs on four hits, including a grand slam by Karlie Davison. Arkansas added three runs on two hits in the top of the third, extending its lead to 8-0.
 
Jamia Nelson broke up the perfect game with a double to lead off the home half of the third inning. Grace Chin pinch ran for Nelson. Kiley Strott flew out foul down the right-field line, allowing Chin to tag up and move to third. Toryn Fulton lined out to center field but picked up a sacrifice fly as Chin tagged up and scored. The Bulls cut the deficit to 8-1 after three innings. 
 
The Razorbacks added a run in the top of the sixth on two hits. Arkansas led 9-1 as the game entered the home half of the inning.
 
Anne Long started in the circle and went 1/3 of an inning, falling to 22-6 on the season. She allowed five runs on four hits and recorded one strikeout. Belle Sardja tossed 1 2/3 innings in relief, striking out one batter and allowing three runs on three hits. McKenna Schroding threw four innings in relief, striking out two batters and allowing one run.

The Bulls return to the diamond for an elimination game. South Florida will face the winner of the Washington and Fordham game. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
