Bulls Roll Past Eagles in Fourth Straight Win

TAMPA – The Bulls led from start to finish in a 93-35 victory over North Carolina Central on Wednesday night at the Sun Dome.

Courtney Williams came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points in just 16 minutes as USF (4-1) extended its winning streak to four games. Tamara Taylor also was in double figures with 11 points, while a total of 16 Bulls saw game action and 12 different players scored.

"I thought we played very unselfishly tonight and we shared the ball well," head coach Jose Fernandez said.

USF used its height advantage to block 15 shots and starting center Akila McDonald contributed with a career-high six in 16 minutes. Alisia Jenkins grabbed 11 of USF's 50 rebounds and her 20 minutes were the most by any starter.

The Bulls seized control of the game by opening with a 21-2 run that was powered by points from seven different players. 

USF pumped its lead up to 54-13 by the break after forcing 20 turnovers and blocking eight shots in the opening period. McDonald posted four blocks while Williams extended her double-digit scoring streak to five games with 10 points after starting 4-for-5 from the field.

"Most of my points came off the fast break. My teammates were just getting it to me," Williams said.

The USF defense scored 35 points off 29 turnovers while North Carolina Central connected on just 21 percent of its field goal attempts (16-for-60). Raquel Davis led the Eagles with 10 points and 14 rebounds with 10 coming on the offensive end of the floor.
