By TOM ZEBOLD USF Senior Writer CLEARWATER – USF had no trouble extending its winning streak to 14 with Sara Nevins in the pitcher's circle Saturday afternoon in Clearwater. Nevins followed up Friday's two-hitter with a one-hitter against Long Island to help the Bulls post a 5-0 victory in the USF-City of Clearwater Spring Invitational at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. Nevins (9-4) struck out nine in the complete game shutout and lowered her ERA to 0.95 while walking three batters. The junior has given up a total of five hits in her past three starts. Ashli Goff went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and her triple gave USF a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Kourtney Salvarola made it a two-run inning with a sacrifice fly and Goff was back at it in the second with an RBI single. USF (20-10) cushioned its lead with two runs in the sixth and Stephanie Juergens capped off the scoring with an RBI single. The Bulls wrap up their Saturday doubleheader with a test against Rhode Island at 6:35 p.m.
