TAMPA – The No. 25 Bulls' season-high winning streak was snapped at 12 with a 12-1 loss to No. 19 Florida on Tuesday night in Gainesville.

Anthony Diaz drove in USF's run with a single in the second and Chris Norton went 2-for-4 in the team's first loss since March 30 at Georgetown. Kyle Teaf went 0-for-4 and saw his on-base streak snapped at 34 games.

The Bulls (26-15) took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth when the Gators put together a six-run frame. USF starter Mike Clarkson (1-5) struck out two and gave up three earned runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Leadoff hitter Richie Martin went 2-for-5 with four RBIS for the Gators (23-19). USF was looking for its second straight win over Florida after getting past the Gators, 5-3, last April at McKethan Stadium.

The Bulls look to stay ahead in the Big East standings during a weekend home series against St. John's that begins 7 p.m. Friday at USF Baseball Stadium. Saturday's game begins at 6 p.m. and Sunday's series finale is set for a 1 p.m. start.
