TAMPA – The No. 22/25 Bulls jumped out to an early lead but couldn't keep up with No. 2 Florida in an 11-1, five-inning loss Saturday at the Gainesville Regional.

USF (44-15) continues its postseason run 6 p.m. Saturday when it faces Georgia Southern in an elimination game. The Bulls opened regional action with a 1-0 victory over Georgia Southern in eight innings on Friday afternoon.

The Bulls' offense managed just one hit off UF ace Hannah Rogers (30-5) after scoring a run against the right-hander in the top of the first inning. Kourtney Salvarola got hit by a pitch in the game's first at-bat and moved over to second on a groundout by D'Anna Devine. Stephanie Medina walked, Kenshyra Jackson became the second batter of the inning to get hit by a pitch and Medina raced home on a throwing error.

USF's Sara Nevins (26-8) lasted 1 1/3 innings and was charged with seven earned runs on six hits. Sam Greiner and Erica Nunn gained valuable NCAA tournament experience by pitching the final 2 2/3 innings.
