USF Softball Is Headed to Fayetteville for an NCAA Regional

The Bulls are headed to their 19th NCAA regional and their fourth in the last six seasons

TAMPA, Fla. (May 10, 2026) – The University of South Florida softball team is headed to the Fayetteville Regional. South Florida will be joined by hosts Arkansas, Washington, and Fordham. The Bulls will open the Fayetteville Regional against the Washington Huskies on Friday, May 15, on ESPNU at 8 p.m. ET.
 
The Bulls are making their 19th NCAA Regional appearance. USF has reached the Super Regional twice and the Women's College World Series once. Every four-year class under Head Coach Ken Eriksen has earned an NCAA Tournament berth. The Bulls and Huskies will meet for the fifth time on Friday, with Washington leading the series 4-1.
 
The Bulls claimed their 10th conference title, including both the regular-season and tournament titles. The USF softball program is led by three-time Defensive Player of the Year Kathy Garcia-Soto and Pitcher of the Year Anne Long. Garcia-Soto and Long were joined on the All-Tournament Team by Olivia Elliott, Jamia Nelson, and Alex Wilkes. Long and Wilkes were named to the All-Conference First Team, while Alexa Galligani earned a second-team nod. Toryn Fulton was named to the All-Freshman Team.

The South Florida softball program has been one of the most successful on campus, making 18 NCAA tournament appearances, including a trip to the Women's College World Series in 2012. Under head coach Ken Eriksen, who enters his 29th season in 2026 and has accumulated 1,171 wins, ranking seventh among active DI head softball coaches, USF has produced 10 NFCA All-Americans, two USA Softball Top 10 Players of the Year, and one NFCA Pitcher of the Year. In 2022, Georgina Corrick became the first player in softball history to earn the NCAA Pitching Triple Crown. She led the nation in ERA (0.51), Victories (37), and total strikeouts (418).
