TAMPA, AUG. 29, 2015 – Freshman setter Molly Burkhardt did a little bit of everything on the stat sheet Saturday night, but a errors cost the USF volleyball team in a three-set loss to FIU.

The Panthers (2-1) forced the Bulls (2-1) into 22 hitting errors, doubling their total from USF's first two matches combined. FIU used those numbers to outhit the Bulls .260-.148 on its way to the 25-17, 26-24, 25-19 win.

Burkhardt (St. Augustine) led USF in aces (3), assists (16) and digs (12), collecting 10 digs in the first set alone to complete the first double-double of her collegiate career. Burkhardt added six kills and a block to those totals, hitting .250 and finishing with 10 points.

The Bulls' outside hitters continued their success from the first two matches of the weekend, combining for 19 of USF's 39 kills. Junior Dakota Hampton (Orland Park, Ill.) fell just one kill shy of a double-double, registering nine kills and 10 digs in the match, while junior Alexus Heidelberg finished the night with 10 kills, four digs and three blocks.

USF led for most of the second set and parts of the other two, but suffered just a fatal FIU run in each set to cost the Bulls their third win of the season.
