TAMPA, SEPT. 20, 2015 – The final tune-up for the USF volleyball team ended in a win Sunday, the Bulls topping in-state opponent Florida A&M in three sets, 25-21, 25-20, 26-24 at The Corral.USF benefitted from a career-high hitting day from sophomore Adyson Goodnight, who led the Bulls with 11 kills on just 16 swings, hitting .688 in an error-free match to send USF past the Rattlers.The Bulls' offense came out of the gate strong and never looked back, using four first-set kills from junior Alexus Heidelberg and never trailing throughout the entire first set. Heidelberg was one of five Bulls to collect multiple kills in the first set, setting the tone for a balanced offensive match.Goodnight was a model of efficiency in the second set, knocking down three kills in just four swings in the second set, and a pair of aces from Heidelberg and Joli Holland helped USF separate from Florida A&M to take a 2-0 lead heading into the break.Goodnight and junior Dakota Hampton took the lead in the final set, combining for 12 of USF's 17 kills in the set to help seal the Bulls' weekend-ending win.USF out-hit Florida A&M .260-.196, and recorded two more service aces than the Rattlers in the win. Senior Wylie Devlin led the Bulls in digs with 12, and Heidelberg added 10.
