Box Score TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 28, 2016)— It was the Evelyne Viens show at Corbett Stadium as the freshman scored two goals to lead USF to a 3-0 win over UMass Sunday afternoon.
In the 60th minute, Viens netted her first of two goals. On a cross from Leticia Skeete atop the 18-yard box, she found the back of the net to make it a 2-0 game.
Just one minute later, Viens would be fouled inside the box, setting up USF's second penalty kick of the game. The freshman notched her second goal, pounding the ball past the diving reach of the UMass keeper.
In the 54th minute, a foul in the box set up a penalty kick attempt for the Bulls. Senior Trudi Carter stepped up to the challenge, netting the Bulls' first goal of the game. The Kingston, Jamaica native went to her right, slotting the ball past the reach of the UMass keeper.
