TAMPA, SEPT. 26, 2016 – A four-match win streak is on the line Tuesday when the University of South Florida men's soccer team hosts No. 7/6 Clemson at Corbett Stadium. First kick is slated for 7 p.m. and the game will air live and on demand on BullsVision.

USF (4-3-2, 1-0-0 The American) picked up its first conference win of the year Saturday in a 2-1 victory Saturday at UCF. The Bulls claimed 6 points in the War on I-4 thanks to the play of Gonzalo Rodriguez (Coustituciou, Chile) and Lindo Mfeka (Durban, South Africa). The pair each tallied one goal and one assist to become the second and third players to notch three points in a single game this season. Mfeka leads the team with seven points (2 goals, 3 assists) while MAC Hermann Trophy candidate Nazeem Bartman (Cape Town, South Africa) follows with six points (2 goals, 2 assists).

After a slow start to the year, eight different Bulls have scored this season. USF has outscored its opponents 8-1 in its last four outings. Spasoje Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) has turned in three solo shutouts in 640 minutes. The senior has tallied a 3-3-1 record and has a 1.55 Goals Against Average. Christian Knight (Odessa, Fla.) nabbed the start in the Bulls last outing, and improved to 1-0-1 this season. The sophomore has one shutout and a GAA of 0.45.

USF will meet Clemson for the 14th time in program history. The series dates back to 1972 when the pair first met on Oct. 1. Clemson holds a 10-1-2 advantage in the series but USF has a 1-1-2 series record in Tampa.

THE OPPONENT

Clemson (5-1-1) is on a streak of its own, going unbeaten with two wins and a tie. The Tigers faced Virginia Tech in their first ACC match of the year, and defeated the Hokies 2-1. In the first NCAA RPI rankings of the season, Clemson checked in at No. 3 and have outscored opponents 12-3 this year.

The Bulls have reached the NCAA Tournament in nine of the last 11 years, including an 11-6-3 record and a second round NCAA appearance last season. Head coach George Kiefer was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) East Region Coach of the Year. Kiefer led USF to its eighth NCAA tournament appearance in the past nine years and earned the No. 2 ranking in the NSCAA East Region. The Bulls posted double-digit wins for the ninth time under Kiefer in 14 seasons and went undefeated at home during the regular season.
