Bulls Shine on Senior Day at South Florida Collegiate
TAMPA, APRIL 20, 2019 – The USF track and field team captured 11 individual titles over the weekend to highlight competition at the South Florida Collegiate at the USF Track and Field Stadium.
On the women's side, freshman
Shaneylix Davila (Kissimmee, Fla.) won the individual title in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.88 seconds. Davila also placed second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.92. Senior
Chelsea Francis (Jacksonville) claimed the title in the 400 meters with a time of 56.59 seconds.
Sophomore
Javonia Ellis (Lake Minneola, Fla.) won the long jump with a distance of 18-7.25, and senior
Kirby Powers (Orange Park, Fla.) placed first in the high jump with a height of 5-3.00. Freshman
Arielle Boone (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) continued the jump success for USF by winning the triple jump with a distance of 40-0.50 to post the seventh-longest outdoor jump in school history.
Senior
Stephanie Lambeth (Frankenmuth, Mich.) won the pole vault with a height of 13-0.75 to register the fifth-best outdoor mark in school history. Sophomore
Brittany Krug (Loretto, Pa.) captured the crown in the javelin throw with a distance of 144-11.00, while senior
Ashley Wilson (Tampa) won the hammer throw with a distance of 173-10.00.
Sophomore
Kiara Miles (Tampa) won the heptathlon by placing first in two events and collecting 4,283 points. Miles took first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.54 seconds and in the shot put with a distance of 38-6.75.
Junior
Maurice Nock (Sanford, Fla.) placed first in the 100 meters for the men's team with a time of 10.36 seconds.
In field events, junior
Taquon Terry (Alachua, Fla.) won the long jump with a distance of 23-7.50, while freshman
Hunter Hummel (Kissimmee, Fla.) posted the 10th-best outdoor distance in school history in the discus throw with a mark of 161-4.00.
USF returns to action next weekend when the Bulls travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take part in the Tom Jones Memorial hosted by the University of Florida.
