Bulls Set for NCAA East Preliminary

TAMPA, MAY 22, 2019 – The USF track and field team will be well represented at the NCAA East Preliminary as eight Bulls will take part in the meet this weekend at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.

Senior D'Angelo Ennis (Kingston, Jamaica) earned a spot at the meet by ranking 10th in the East Region in the triple jump with a top distance of 52-6.75 he posted earlier this month at the American Athletic Conference Championships. Ennis' mark was the top at the meet and gave him his second consecutive triple jump crown. Ennis is scheduled to compete on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Senior David Bell (Jacksonville) owns a top height of 17-4.50 in the pole vault and ranks 13th in the region, while freshman Stone Baker (New Port Richey, Fla.) placed second in the event earlier this month at the AAC Outdoor Championships with a height of 16-9.25, which ranks 33rd in the region. The duo will compete Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Senior Chelsea Francis (Jacksonville) set the school record in the 100 meters earlier this season with a time of 11.41 seconds at the UIW Invitational and heads into the East Preliminary ranked 28th in the region. She also qualified in the 200 meters after posting a top time of 23.69 seconds at the AAC Championships to rank 45th in the East Region. Francis is scheduled to race in the preliminaries of the 100 meters on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and the preliminaries of the 200 meters on Friday at 7 p.m.

Junior sprinter Maurice Nock (Sanford, Fla.) will take part in the both the 100 and 200 meters after finishing the season ranked in the top 48 in both events. Nock stands 37th in the region in the 100 meters with a top time of 10.34 seconds after racing to the third-fastest time in school history at the AAC Championships. Nock also owns a top time of 20.82 in the 200 meters and ranks 30th in the region. Nock will race in the 100-meter preliminaries on Thursday at 6:55 p.m. and the 200-meter preliminaries on Friday at 7:55 p.m.

Thrower Brittany Krug (Loretto, Pa.) owns the 40th-best javelin throw in the East Region after she posted a distance of 151-9.00 at the AAC Championships on her way to a fourth-place finish. Krug will compete at the NCAA East Preliminary on Thursday at 12 p.m.

Junior Stephanie Lambeth (Frankenmuth, Mich.) features a top height of 13-0.75 in the pole vault and ranks 47th in the East Region. Lambeth is scheduled to compete Friday at 5 p.m.

Sophomore Imani Carmouche (Mt. Zion, Ga.) earned a berth in the meet in the high jump by ranking 39th in the region with a top height of 5-8.75. Carmouche is scheduled to compete on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
