USF Softball Announces Fall Schedule
TAMPA, Sept. 24, 2019 — The USF softball team announced its fall schedule Monday, featuring many top local programs. The autumn slate includes exhibition games against Saint Leo, University of Tampa, Hillsborough Community College, Bethune-Cookman, Florida Southwestern State College, Jacksonville University and Northwest Florida State College.

Saint Leo and Tampa both participated in the NCAA Division II regional tournaments last season. The University of Tampa finished the season ranked at No. 23 with a 34-13 record. The Spartans advanced to the NCAA South Region Finals before being eliminated by West Florida.

Saint Leo finished 31-18, which earned the Lions a trip to the NCAA South Regional. However, the Lions were eliminated after back-to-back losses to Alabama-Huntsville and Mississippi College.

Florida Southwestern State College is a NJCAA powerhouse, finishing 54-3 in 2019. The Buccaneers played their way to the NJCAA District H Championship before falling to the eventual national champion in Chipola.

Bethune-Cookman won the MEAC in 2019, earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats ultimately lost their first two games in the tournament, finishing the year with a 26-31 record.

South Florida is coming off a successful 2019 campaign. The team finished 41-19, its first 40-win season since 2016. All-American and two-time American Pitcher of the Year Georgina Corrick returns to the program for her junior year after going 26-5 with a 1.14 ERA and 260 strikeouts in 2019.
