Bulls conclude road trip at Marquette Intercollegiate

Runchanapong Youprayong helped lead South Florida to a sixth-place finish.

TAMPA, Fla. (October 3, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls men's golf team concluded an extended road trip through Illinois and Wisconsin on Monday with a sixth-place finish at the Marquette Intercollegiate played at Milwaukee Country Club. Junior Runchanapong Youprayong (Bangkok, Thailand) paced the Bulls with a score of 215 (+5).

South Florida traveled to the Milwaukee last week after concluding play at the Windon Memorial hosted by Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois.

USF opened play with 36 holes at the Marquette Intercollegiate on Sunday and wrapped up play on Monday with a final score of 863 (+23) in the 15-team field. Auburn won the event with a team score of 845 (+5).

The Bulls fired a second-round score of 284 (+4) which was second-best among the participating teams.

Youprayong tied for 16th individually with rounds of 72 (+2), 76 (+6) and 67 (-3). Monday's round of 67 was a season low.

Shubham Jaglan (Delhi, India) tied for 39th in the 87-player field with a score of 218 (+8). The sophomore opened play with a round of 69 (-1) in Monday's opener. Freshman Nino Palmquist (Halmstad, Sweden) tied for 42nd with a score of 219 (+9) over 54-holes. Palmquist carded scores of 69 (-1) and 70 (E) over the final two rounds for a new career low.

Jake Peacock (Milton, Ga.) and Sam Nicholson (Atlantic Beach) each carded scores of 223 (+13) to tie for 63rd to round out the team scoring. Chase Gullikson (Orlando) played as an individual and posted a three-round score of 229.

Up Next

The Bulls will return home to Tampa and have some time off before returning to the road at the Quail Valley Collegiate on October 16 in Vero Beach.
