TAMPA, Feb. 12, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team earned its first upset win of the season by taking down No. 13/16 Michigan, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) threw 11 strikeouts to push her career total to 906, breaking the American Athletic Conference record of 903 set by Tulsa's Emily Watson (2015-18).
Josie Foreman (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and
Madison Epperson (Tampa) powered the Bulls offense with a pair of homers in the game.

The Bulls took an early lead.
Alexis Johns (Sarasota) and Megan Sheehan (Forest Hill, Md.) reached to begin the inning and later in the inning Foreman hit a three-run shot to left field, giving USF a 3-0 advantage.

Michigan cut into the lead in the third. A pair of defensive mistakes allowed a runner to cross, shrinking USF's lead to 3-1.

The Bulls answered with a solo home run off the bat of Epperson in the fourth to seal the win at 4-1.

Corrick continued her weekend success in the game. The senior threw her first complete game of the season and earned her second win of the year. Â

Notables
- Corrick is now only 197 strikeouts away from the South Florida career record of 1,103 set by Sara Nevins (2011-14).
- Corrick now has sole possession of third place on USF's all-time victories list with 78. She's 24 away from breaking the record set by Nevins.
- Sheehan drew two walks in the game.
- USF is now 11-17 against Michigan in the all-time series. The Bulls are also now 68-192 against Top-25 opponents all-time.
