USF Softball Placed in Many Major Polls/Rankings
TAMPA, Feb. 22, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team received major consideration in many major polls and rankings entering the third week of the season following a 6-2 start to the 2022 campaign, including major wins against other ranked opponents.

The Bulls entered the two major coaches' polls, the
USA Today/NFCA poll and the
ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, at No. 25, as well as rankings in many major media outlets, including a No. 19 spot in the
Extra Inning Softball Poll (comprised of media, coaches and SIDs), a No. 22 spot in the
D1Softball rankings and a No. 23 selection in the
Softball America rankings.
The Bulls finished a 3-1 weekend at the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational, where the team defeated No. 7/7 Oklahoma State, as well as Notre Dame, who was receiving votes in the NFCA and USA Softball polls, and Wisconsin. The weekend built on an impressive showing at the USF-Rawlings Invitational where the Bulls defeated No. 13/16 Michigan and posted dominant victories over Kansas City and Illinois State.

South Florida currently has four hitters batting over a .300 batting average.
Josie Foreman (West Palm Beach, Fla.) is leading the group by hitting .438, followed by
Megan Pierro (Lutz, Fla.) at .435,
Alexis Johns (Sarasota, Fla.) at .417 and
Meghan Sheehan (Forest Hill, Md.) at .357. Foreman was named to the American Athletic Conference honor roll for her efforts this week.

Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) has taken both AAC Pitcher of the Week honors this season, starting the year with a 5-0 record and a 0.21 ERA in 34 innings pitched, including three complete games and a shutout. She's also added 50 strikeouts while holding opposing hitters to a .144 batting average.
