TULSA, Okla., April 22, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team opened the weekend with a 2-1 win against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Friday evening.

Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) tossed a complete game to earn her 28
th win of the season, while
Vivian Ponn (Fort Myers, Fla.) powered the Bulls offense with two extra base hits.

Tulsa got on the board first with a solo home run in the first inning off the bat of Kylie Norwood.
Â
South Florida responded in the fourth. Ponn crushed her fourth home run of the season to left field to tie the game at 1-1.
The Bulls clinched the game in the seventh.
Alexis Johns (Sarasota, Fla.) hit a sacrifice fly that scored
Emilee Hanlon (Dunkirk, N.Y.) to put USF ahead for good, 2-1.

While Tulsa loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, Corrick shut the door, finishing the day with nine strikeouts.

Notables
- Corrick's now has 331 strikeouts on the season and 1,215 in her career. She holds sole possession of the No. 3 spot on USF's single-season list, and will look to pass her 2021 total, as well as Sara Nevin's season record of 336, later this weekend.
- Vivian Ponn has posted multi-hit games in back-to-back contests.
