USF Softball’s Corrick Named NFCA All-Region First Team Selection
TAMPA, May 19, 2022 – University of South Florida senior pitcher
Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) earned her fourth straight selection to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Mideast Region First Team, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon in advance of this weekend's NCAA regionals.
The Mideast region consists of select schools from the American Athletic Conference, Big East, Conference USA, MAC, Missouri Valley Conference, Ohio Valley Conference and Southern Conference. Joining USF in the Mideast region from the AAC is UCF and East Carolina.Corrick is now eligible to be selected for her potential third All-American honor.
Corrick, who leads the country in innings pitched (266.1), shutouts (20), strikeouts (407) strikeout-to-walk ratio (13.13) and victories (36), also ranks in the top 10 in ERA (third, 0.53), hits allowed per seven innings (third, 2.89) and walks allowed per seven innings (eighth, 0.81).
The two-time NFCA All-American has reached new heights in her final year of eligibility. At one point during the season, Corrick's ERA was as low as 0.06 in 118 innings pitched and she had a perfect 18-0 record. Her early-season streak of 88.1 consecutive scoreless innings in the circle was the seventh longest streak in NCAA history.
Corrick was named the American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year for the fourth consecutive season, the only pitcher in AAC history to win the award in every year of their career.

Corrick is USF's third student-athlete to earn four All-Region honors in their career, joining Jennifer Thompson (1996-99) and Sara Nevins (2011-14).
USF begins play in the Tallahassee regional tomorrow evening, with a 6 p.m. matchup against Mississippi State on ESPNU. Florida State and Howard are also in the regional.
