Four Bulls named WGCA All-American Scholars

Ana Maria Barriga, Juliana Camargo, Leonor Medeiros and Ashley Zagers earned the honor.

TAMPA (July 18, 2022) – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has announced its 2021-22 All-American Scholars, including a quartet of Bulls from the University of South Florida. Ana Maria Barriga, Juliana Camargo, Leonor Medeiros and Ashley Zagers were each named WGCA All-American Scholars.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics – a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Zagers earns the honor for the second time in her final season at USF.

All four recipients were also major contributors for the Bulls on the golf course during the 2021-22 campaign, excelling both in the classroom and in competition.

The Bulls are in their fifth season under head coach 
Erika Brennan in 2022-23. USF is among the fastest rising programs in the country, as they climbed 75 spots in the national Golfstat rankings following Brennan's first season in 2018-19 and have captured three tournament titles in four seasons, while setting numerous program scoring records under her leadership.
