USF Softball’s Corrick Earns Pitching Triple Crown

July 21, 2022

TAMPA, July 20, 2022 – University of South Florida pitcher Georgina Corrick made history yet again with her senior season, becoming the first pitcher in NCAA softball history to lead the nation in wins, ERA and strikeouts in the same season, sealing the first NCAA softball Pitching Triple Crown.

The pitching triple crown, which is not officially awarded by the NCAA, is "awarded" to the player who leads their league in wins, strikeout and ERA.

Corrick wrapped up an incredible career with a phenomenal senior season. She threw a 0.51 ERA in 37 wins and added 418 strikeouts along the way, pacing all Division I pitcher in each category.

The closest pitcher behind her tallied six less wins, 44 less strikeouts and an ERA that was 0.26 higher than Corrick's final stat line.

Corrick is the first to lead in all three categories since the NCAA started sponsoring softball in 1982. Multiple pitchers have led in two of the three categories, however Corrick was the first to solidify all three in a single season to claim the Pitching Triple Crown.

The 2022 NFCA Division I Pitcher of the Year, who is also USF's nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, completed her collegiate career having tied or broken at least 40 different USF or AAC records.

Tossing the 25th most strikeouts in a career with 1,302, Corrick is continuing her softball career as a professional after being drafted in the Athletes Unlimited College Draft earlier this year. She finished in fifth on the AUX leaderboard for the league's summer season and will play for Team Great Britain alongside fellow USF alum Lauren Evans at the Women's Softball European Championships.
