Tampa, Fla., Jan. 26, 2023 – The University of South Florida track and field team competes in its second indoor competition this weekend at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky. The Bulls are coming off record-breaking performances from the Jimmy Carnes Invitational hosted in early January.

Alliya Boothe and
Ameilya Richardson will kick off the competition with the women's weight throw set to begin at 11 a.m. on Friday. Next,
Shaniya Benjamin,
Annia Ashley, and
Nia Robinson compete in the long jump set at 11:45 a.m.

David Ajama and
Victor Steiner will compete in the men's long jump later in the day, followed by
Audrey Wuerffel,
Riley Hunt, and
Annalise Zeinemann competing in the women's pole vault.

Shaneylix Davila and
Chakiya Plummer will represent the Bulls in the women's 60-meter hurdles. Meanwhile, the men's squad will include
Michael Bourne III and Steiner to wrap up the first day of competition.

On Saturday, Boothe returns to the field in the women's shot put while
Johann Jeremiah will represent the men's team. After that,
Stone Baker,
Kobe Babin, and
Noah Bitter will compete in the men's pole vault competition.

Individuals
Elijah Wright,
Shevioe Reid, and
Monte Parker face off in the men's 400-meter dash, while the women's event will feature freshmen
Kayla Hugg and
Terren Peterson.
Recent AAC Field Athlete of the Week honoree
Romaine Beckford will wrap up the meet by contending in the men's high jump. Beckford holds the program record at 2.21 meters (7-3) after finishing first in the event during the season opener.

About USF Track and Field
The USF track and field team has earned 53 All-America selections and at least one All- American in 10 of the last 12 years, including a record eight athletes claiming 11 honors in 2021. Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program record earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Bulls have posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020 and in the 2021 outdoor season the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium located on the east end of campus.
