TAMPA, Fla. (October 31, 2023) – The University of South Florida men's soccer (5-8-1, 2-4-1) hosts FAU (5-6-3, 3-4) in a senior night showdown at Corbett Stadium on Wednesday night. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the match can be streamed live on ESPN+. The program will honor its 10 seniors in a ceremony prior to the start of the game.

SETTING THE STAGE
South Florida is looking to close out the regular season with a win and lock in its sixth win of the year.
Jalen Anderson leads the Bulls with six goals on the season, accompanied by
Ajmeer Spengler, who has six assists. FAU is on the hunt for its third straight victory to close out the regular season.

SOUTH FLORIDA-FAU SERIES
The meeting on Wednesday night will be the Bull's 19th clash with the Owls, and the series extends back to 1983. • USF has won 7 of the last ten pairings against FAU (three ties). The Bulls are looking for their 11 home victory against the Owls. In the last meeting, South Florida tied FAU, 1-1 in Boca Raton, Florida (Sept. 16, 2022).

LAST TIME OUT
It took the Bulls some time to find the answer, but in the 73' minute of action,
Richard Thompson scored the equalizer for USF,
Jalen Anderson had the assist. Thompson's goal was his first of the season. Spengler got the scoring kicked off on a long-range floater early in the opening half of For the following eight minutes, the match was tied 1-1 up 81' , until Santo scored his second goal of the night for the Tigers. South Florida fought hard in the final nine minutes to create chances but were unable to create after Memphis' second goal of the night.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Victor Claudel and Noah Kvifte are tied as FAU's leading goal scorers with six each. Rotem Fadida has started all 14 games in goal for the Owls. He has three shutouts on the year and a 1.86 GAA.

USF ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Alumni Jeff Attinella has been selected as a member of the 2023 USF Athletics Hall of Fame Class and will be inducted on Thurs., Nov. 9. Attinella is one of two student-athletes to receive that honor in USF men's soccer history. An NSCAA First-Team All-American goalkeeper (2009), a three-time All-Region selection, and three-time Big East All-Conference honoree, earning first-team honors in both in 2009, Attinella played on four NCAA Tournament Teams and helped lead the 2007 team to the NCAA Sweet 16 and the 2008 team to the NCAA Elite Eight.

USF Men's Soccer competed in the school's first-ever intercollegiate athletic contest on Sept. 25, 1965, beating Florida Southern 4-3.
