Nicholson leads three Bulls that placed in the top 15
GAINESVILLE, FLA., Feb. 12, 2023 – The USF men's golf team began its 2023 spring season with a sixth-place team finish at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. Sunday.
Three Bulls placed in the top 15 individually to help USF tally a 54-hole total of 854 (+14) in the 14-team field that competed on the Mark Bostick Golf Course (Par 70, 6,701 yards). No.8-ranked Florida won its 29th Gators Invitational title posting a three-round total of 826 (-14). Georgia Southern's Mason Williams won the individual title in a playoff, posting a total of 11-under par 199.
USF was led by junior
Sam Nicholson (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) who finished eighth after firing rounds of 68, 69 and 73 for a total of even-par, 210.
He was joined in the top 15 by sophomores
Jake Peacock (Milton, Ga.) and
Shubham Jaglan (Delhi, India). Peacock finished tied for ninth with a 1-over par total of 211 after posting a 70 in the final round. Jaglan tied for 14
th at 3-over par, 213, shooting a 69 in the second round.
Freshman
Nino Palmquist (Halmstad, Sweden) tied for 54th with a total of 13-over 223, and sophomore
Chase Gullikson (Orlando, Fla.) shot 20-over 230 to finish tied for 69
th.

The Bulls return to action Feb. 27-March 1 at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate in Las Vegas, Nev. The evented hosted by UNLV will be played at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nev.
About USF Men's Golf
The USF men's golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2022-23 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
