TULSA, Okla. (February 14, 2023) – The University of South Florida Bulls wrap up a two-game road trip at Tulsa on Wednesday night. South Florida will have just two more road contests and five regular season games remaining after Wednesday's tilt.
The Bulls have dropped two straight, most recently an 84-65 loss at Cincinnati last Saturday. Tulsa enters the game on a six-game skid. The Golden Hurricane have won four of their five total games this season at home.
Corey Walker Jr. made his first start of the season on Saturday in place of Russel Tchewa (wrist) and made the most of his opportunity with a career-high 25 points. Ryan Conwell pulled down a career-high seven rebounds in the game and Selton Miguel added eight points. Miguel is averaging 10.8 ppg this season.
Tyler Harris ranks sixth in the American Athletic Conference this season in scoring (17.0 ppg) and recently broke the AAC's career record for three-pointers (266). Harris needs just 14 more triples to set a new USF single-season record (88 – Derrick Sharp, 1991-92).
Tchewa tallied three straight double-doubles before being sidelined last Saturday. The center is averaging 11.4 ppg, ranks third in the AAC in rebounding (8.1) and fourth in shooting percentage (60%).
A win at Tulsa on Wednesday would be the first in program history for USF. The Bulls and Golden Hurricane will meet again in Tampa in USF's final home game of the season on Wednesday, March 1.
Sam Griffin (15.2 ppg) and Bryant Selebangue (12.2) lead Tulsa in scoring this season. Griffin is shooting 31 percent from downtown while Brandon Betson (9.3 ppg) is shooting 45 percent from three-point range.

About USF Men's Basketball
The USF men's basketball team is led by head coach Brian Gregory, who enters his sixth season in 2022-23. Gregory was introduced as the 10th head coach in program history in March of 2017 after previously leading programs at Georgia Tech (2011-16) and Dayton (2003-11). Gregory spent nearly a decade as an assistant coach under Michigan State's Hall of Fame head coach Tom Izzo and helped the Spartans win the 2000 NCAA National Championship. Gregory owns over 300 career head coaching wins and six postseason appearances, including the 2010 NIT Championship with Dayton. In his second season at the helm of the Bulls, Gregory led the team to the best win turnaround in the NCAA, the most single-season wins in school history and the 2019 College Basketball Invitational championship.Â
Â
USF has retired three numbers in its history: Chucky Atkins (12), Charlie Bradley (30) and Radenko Dobras (31). The Bulls have earned three NCAA tournament bids, appeared in the NIT eight times and won the 2019 College Basketball Invitational.
