DAYTONA BEACH (March 28, 2023) – The University of South Florida Bulls begin a four-game road swing at Bethune-Cookman University on Tuesday evening. The teams will face off again later this season in Tampa on April 11th.

The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats have won five straight games overall entering the week and are 14-5 at home this season. South Florida has won five straight matchups in the series with Tuesday marking the 81st meeting between the teams. USF has won 11 of the last 14 matchups overall. During their five-game winning streak in the series, the Bulls have outscored the Wildcats, 53-12. USF has also won two in Daytona Beach. Bethune-Cookman's last win in the series came during the 2017 Gainesville Regional.

John Montes enters the week as USF's offensive leader in batting average (.315) and homers (6) while ranking second in RBI (19). Montes has hit safely in 15 of his last 20 games (10 multi-hit efforts). He has two doubles, five homers and 13 RBI over his last 10 games.

Daniel Cantu ranks second on the team in homers (5) and is USF's RBI leader (20). Cantu batted .438 (7-for-16) with three homers, a homer and seven RBI over the weekend against VCU, including a career-high five RBI on Saturday.

Eric Snow is riding a 10-game hitting streak and batting .357 (15-for-42) over that stretch with a homer and seven RBI. Drew Brutcher has reached base safely in 21 consecutive ballgames and is riding an eight-game hitting streak.
