LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 10, 2023) – The University of South Florida Bulls embark on a cross-country trip to Long Beach State over the weekend. The Bulls and Dirtbags will meet on the diamond for the first time during the three-game series. Due to rain forecast on Friday, the schedule has been adjusted with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.

The Dirtbags have appeared in 22 NCAA Regionals and made four trips to the College World Series.

The trip marks the final non-conference road series for the Bulls, who will play their next 18 games in the Sunshine State.

Bobby Boser enters the weekend in California leading the team in batting average (.383) and has reached base safely in all 13 games to begin the season. Jackson Mayo and Eric Snow are tied for the team lead with 11 RBI.

Drew Brutcher (9) and John Montes (8) are both riding respective hitting streaks and Daniel Cantu has reached base safely in 11 consecutive games. Cantu, Boser and Mayo each have three home runs on the season.

Montes is batting .412 with four extra-base hits and six RBI over his last 10 games and Snow is hitting .438 with two doubles, two homers and 10 RBI over his last five games.

The Bulls return to Tampa for a five-game homestand beginning with a pair of midweek games against Dartmouth on March 14-15. USF will then welcome Army to Tampa for a three-game weekend series beginning on Friday, March 17.
