TAMPA, Fla. (November 20, 2024) – The University of South Florida men's basketball team takes to the road for the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The Bulls (2-2) open the tournament with a contest against the Portland Pilots (2-2) on ESPN2 at 2:30 p.m.
 
This will be South Florida's first trip to the Myrtle Beach Invitational.
 
Reynolds Wrap
Jamille Reynolds recorded a double-double and five blocks off the bench against West Georgia. Only two other USF players since 1996-97 have come off the bench and reached those marks in a single game: McHugh Mattis (Dec 3, 2005) and Yusuf Baker (Dec 2, 2002).
 
What Can Brown Do for You?
CJ Brown went 3-for-3 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line against West Georgia while committing zero turnovers. The only other USF player since 1996 to not miss a single shot (min. 3 FGA and 4 FTA) or have a single turnover in a game was Hugh Robertson on February 8, 2012, against Pittsburgh (7-for-7, 4-for-4).
 
Nine with 25 Points
The Bulls have nine players with at least 25 points this season, tied for second most in D-I behind Sacred Heart (10). This is the most players by any AAC team in 2024-25.
 
70 Points in Four Straight to Begin the Season
USF has scored at least 70 points in all four games this season, its longest streak to start a season since 2018-19. The last time the Bulls did this in their first five games of a season was in 1994-95 (first nine).

The Bulls have held opponents to 23.6 percent from 3-point range. USF is 13th in the NCAA and leads the AAC in 3-point defense.
 
Making it Count at the Line
The Bulls' free-throw percentage of 74.0 ranks them tied for 110th in the country and fifth in the AAC.

South Florida is tied for 67th in the nation and tied for fourth in the conference with 15.50 fastbreak points per game.
 
Looking at the Bulls
Kasen Jennings leads the team with 12.3 points per game. He has dished out 13 assists, which is second on the team. He has added six rebounds and three steals. Kobe Knox is second on the team with 11.3 points per game. He is third on the squad with five made 3-pointers and is tied for third in steals with four. Jamille Reynolds is the only other player averaging double digits, with 11.0 a game. He is second on the team with 6.7 rebounds per game and leads the team with five blocks. De'Ante Green paces the team with 8.0 rebounds per game. Jayden Reid has a team-high 14 assists.
 
History with Portland
Thursday will be the first meeting between South Florida and Portland.
 
Scouting the Pilots
Vukasin Masic leads Portland with 15.0 points per game and has a team-best 15 assists. He is third on the team with 5.3 rebounds per game. Austin Rapp is the only other Pilot averaging double figures with 12.5 a game. He is second on the team with 7.3 rebounds per contest. Todd Jones leads the squad with 7.5 rebounds per game to go along with 7.5 points per game. Jones and Rapp are tied for a team-high five blocked shots. Masic and Jones are tied for the team lead with four steals.

About USF Men's Basketball
The University of South Florida men's basketball, led by interim head coach Ben Fletcher, is a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls enter their 2024-25 campaign, presented by Tampa General Hospital, on the heels of their best season in program history, in which they claimed their first-ever regular season conference title, won a record 25 games, and earned a Top 25 ranking for the first time in program history.
