Dykes Earns Fourth AAC Setter of the Week Honor

Maria Clara Andrade and Lia Schneider earned Honorable Mentions.

IRVING, Texas, November 4, 2024 – For the fourth time this season, Caroline Dykes was named the American Athletic Conference Setter of the Week, while Maria Clara Andrade and Lia Schneider earned an Honorable Mention.
 
Dykes finished the week with 89 assists, averaging 12.71 per set. Her career total is now 3,975, with only 25 assists from reaching 4,000. If she reaches the milestone, she will become the 15th active DI setter to do so. Along with 89 assists, Dykes led the team with four service aces, was second with 20 digs, and posted two blocks. In Wednesday's 3-1 win over Florida Atlantic, she posted her 10th double-double of the season and the 51st of her career.
 
Andrade posted a team-high 33 points, averaging 4.71 points per set. She finished both matches with 15 kills for a total of 30. Andrade extended her double-digit kill streak to 17 matches. She complimented her 30 kills with one ace, one assist, 16 digs, and three blocks.
 
Schneider led the Bulls with 41 digs last week, averaging 5.86 per set. She recorded her second career kill in the sweep over Temple. In the match against Florida Atlantic, Schneider set a career-high of 27 digs. She also led the team with four service aces. Schneider extended her double-digit dig streak to nine matches. She has recorded 20+ digs in six of the last nine matches.
 
UP NEXT
South Florida will travel to North Carolina for a pair of matches against Charlotte and East Carolina. The Bulls and 49ers will go head-to-head on Friday, November 8 at 6 p.m. South Florida will close out the weekend at East Carolina on Sunday, November 10 at 1 p.m.
