TAMPA, Fla. (December 16, 2024) – The University of South Florida men's basketball team is back inside the friendly confines of the Yuengling Center on Wednesday, December 18. The Bulls (5-5) and the Wildcats (2-8) are scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip on ESPN+.
 
South Florida will be inside the Yuengling Center for the next four contests to end 2024.
 
CJ's Block Party
CJ Brown has recorded multiple blocks (two and two) off the bench in back-to-back games. The last USF true freshman to have consecutive such games off the bench was Chris Perry (two and four) from November 9-12, 2013.
 
Knox's Huge Improvement at the Free-Throw Line
Kobe Knox is shooting 86.7 percent from the free-throw line this season after shooting 57.1 percent from the line last season. That is the largest improvement from one season to the next by any USF player in the last 25 years (min. 15 attempts in both seasons).
 
KJ's Fast Start
Kasen Jennings has 106 points and a 45.0 three-point percentage through his first 10 games with USF in his career. The only other players this century to reach at least 100 points and shoot 45.0 percent from beyond the arc through 10 career games with South Florida are Alexis Yetna and Dominique Jones.
 
All Five Starters Recording Steals
All five starters recorded a steal in USF's last game against Utah State, the second time that has happened for the Bulls this season. The last time South Florida had multiple such games in a season was 2019-20 (three).
 
Nine Players Have Scored 10 Points
USF has had nine different players who have recorded at least one 10-point game this season, tied for most in the AAC (Temple, UAB, UTSA, Wichita State). The Bulls had eight such players in all last season.
 
30 Straight Games
USF has gone 30 consecutive games with at least 25 rebounds and 10 assists, which is the sixth-longest streak in Division I. The last time the Bulls had a longer streak was 58 straight games between November 28, 2000, and March 6, 2002.
 
Frees and 3s                                                  
The Bulls have recorded at least five made 3-pointers and 10 made free throws in all 10 games this season. It is their second-longest streak to start a campaign in the past 25 years (12 to start 2012-13). USF is one of 11 Division I teams to reach those marks in every game in 2024-25.

USF is tied for 85th in the country and fourth in the AAC with a free-throw percentage of 74.4 percent.

Jayden Reid leads the team with 13.2 points per game and has a team-best 37 assists. He has added 14 steals and one block. Jamille Reynolds is leading the team with 8.3 rebounds per game and is averaging 10.7 points per contest. His 8.3 rebounds per game are tied for 56th in the NCAA and third in the AAC. His 6.89 defensive rebounds per game are 24th in the nation and lead the conference. He leads the team with 10 blocks. Kasen Jennings is third on the squad with 10.6 points per game. He is second on the team with 27 assists to go along with nine steals. Kobe Knox rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.1 points per game. He has 14 assists, 10 steals, and two blocks. Brandon Stroud leads the team with 17 steals. He is averaging 8.2 points per contest and 4.9 rebounds a game. He is third on the team with 23 assists. South Florida and Bethune-Cookman will meet for the 18th time on Wednesday. The Bulls have won 16 of the 17 matchups, including the last five games. USF won the last meeting 75-54 on November 9, 2021, in Tampa. South Florida is 15-1 at home against Bethune-Cookman. The Bulls have defeated the Wildcats by 20 or more points in 11 contests. It is the most against any opponent since the 1980-81 season.

Brayon Freeman leads Bethune-Cookman with 16.0 points per game. He has a team-best 23 assists and is second on the squad with 15 steals. About USF Men's Basketball
The University of South Florida men's basketball, led by interim head coach Ben Fletcher, is a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls enter their 2024-25 campaign, presented by Tampa General Hospital, on the heels of their best season in program history, in which they claimed their first-ever regular season conference title, won a record 25 games, and earned a Top 25 ranking for the first time in program history.
