Bulls Stampede Past Lions as Four Players Finish in Double Figures

South Florida is now 11-0 at home when Knox scores in double digits

TAMPA, Fla. (December 21, 2024) – The University of South Florida men's basketball team had four players finish in double digits against East Texas A&M on Saturday. Kobe Knox produced a career-high at USF as the Bulls (6-6) took down the Lions (2-11), 88-62.
 
South Florida is now 11-0 at home when Knox scores in double digits. He led the team with a game-high 19 points. It is the most points he has scored as a Bull. Quincy Ademokoya recorded the most points he has scored while at USF with 16 points. Jayden Reid posted the second double-double of his career with 11 points and 10 assists. Jimmie Williams closed out the double-digit scorers with 11 points.
 
The Bulls came out of the gates strong. Ademokoya led the charge with five points. Reid found Jamille Reynolds for the alley-oop. USF held a 9-6 lead at the first media timeout.
After the Lions made a 3-pointer, the Bulls responded with an 11-0 run to extend their lead to 20-9. During the run, Reid accounted for six points, while Ademokoya added five. The Bulls added a 9-3 run that included a four-point play by Williams.  
South Florida kept the pressure on East Texas A&M and went on a 10-5 run. During the run, Knox knocked down two 3-pointers. USF led 39-17 with just under four minutes until half. South Florida closed out the half by outscoring East Texas A&M 10-9, including an alley-oop from Williams to Ademokoya. The Bulls took a 49-26 lead into the half.
South Florida shot 56.3 percent from 3-point range and 65.5 percent from the field in the first half. The Bulls shared the ball extremely well in the first half, with 15 assists on 19 field goals.
The second half started as a back-and-forth battle, with both sides scoring seven points. With 15:42 left in regulation, USF held a 56-33 lead. The Bulls went on a 9-4 run that featured three impressive dunks. Reynolds started the run with an emphatic slam, and De'Ante Green finished it with a putback dunk. The Bulls led 65-37.
East Texas A&M outscored South Florida 14-7 for the next 3:23, but the Bulls still led 72-51. Reynolds produced another alley-oop during the run. The next six points of the game for USF came via dunks. South Florida extended its lead to 56-57 at the final media timeout. The Bulls went on to win 88-62 and held the Lions scoreless for the final 2:17.
 
As a team, the Bulls dished out a season-high 23 assists. USF made 13 3-pointers, which tied a season-best. South Florida shot a season-best 60.7 percent from the field and 48.1 percent from 3-point range, which tied a season-high. The transition offense was on point, leading to a 15-3 advantage in fast-break points. The Bulls outscored the Lions in points off turnovers (29-16), points in the paint (42-28), and bench points (44-22).
 
Reynolds, CJ Brown, and Brandon Stroud tied for a team-high six rebounds. Brown blocked a game-high two shots. Williams added a game-high four steals.
 
Scooter Williams Jr. led the Lions with 13 points. Khaliq Abdul-Mateen led ETAMU with seven rebounds and added 10 points. Tay Mosher closed out the double-digit scoring for the Lions with 12 points.
 
Notables
· South Florida is now 11-0 at home when Knox scores in double digits. He led the team with a game-high 19 points. It is the most points he has scored as a Bull. It was his sixth game in double figures.
· Quincy Ademokoya posted his third game in double figures with 16.
· Jayden Reid collected his second-career double-double with 11 points and 10 assists. It was his sixth game in double digits.
· Jimmie Williams notched his fourth game in double digits with 11 points.
