DALLAS, Texas (April 17, 2024) – The No. 59-nationally ranked University of South Florida Bulls (11-10) will open play in the 2024 AAC Women's Tennis Championship against the University of North Texas Mean Green (12-12) on Thursday, April 18. The match is set for 1 p.m. ET at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex. No. 45-nationally ranked SMU is the top seed and tournament host.

South Florida is the No. 5 seed in the tournament. No. 12 seed North Texas advanced in Wednesday's opening round with a 4-1 win over No. 13 ECU to set a date with the Bulls on Thursday. The winner of the USF-UNT match will take on No. 4 see Rice (No. 57 nationally) on Friday, April 19 at 1 p.m. ET.

Tournament seeds are based off the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.

The Bulls hosted and defeated the Mean Green, 4-3, back on February 11 in Tampa. Grace Schumacher, Melisa Senli, Gargi Pawar and Ireland Simme tallied wins in singles play.

A win on Thursday would setup up another rematch with Rice on Friday. USF would have a chance to avenge a 4-0 loss to Rice on a neutral court in Miami on April 6.

The Bulls went 7-4 over their final 11 matches of the regular season, including wins over four ranked opponents.
