Tampa, Fla. April 4, 2024 – The University of South Florida track and field returns home to host the South Florida Invitational. The men's team ranks 15th in the nation, with four top-ten marks including
Goodness Iredia holding the third-best triple jump mark in the NCAA. The women's team has three top-25 marks.
TRACK
The 100m dash will see
Shomari Pettigrew and
Abdul-Rasheed Saminu compete for the men. The women will race
Zahria Allers-Liburd,
Gianna Hansen,
Amani Kirnon, and
Shaniya Benjamin.
In the 200m dash, the men will race Saminu,
Shevioe Reid,
Nathan Metelus,
Tre'Sean Bouie,
Zayquan Lincoln, and Pettigrew. The women will run
Terren Peterson,
Je'Nyia Burton,
Lynette Scutari, Hansen, and Kirnon.
For the 400m dash, South Florida's men will run Reid, Metelus,
Gabriel Moronta,
Daunte O'Banion,
Aidan Dixon, and
Jaleel Croal. The women will run Burton, Peterson,
Amenda Saint Louis, and
Sydni Studesville.
In the 800m, the men will race
Jesse Benavides, Karim Belmahdi, Moronta, and Thomas Ashley. The women will see
Arden La-Rose, Saint Louis, Studesville,
Victoria Valdez,
Madeline Abega, and
Elayna Williams run.
In the 1500m the Bulls will have, Benavides,
Tyler Wadsworth, Ashley, Johnny Reid, and
Sean Perry run. The women will run La-Rose, Valdez,
Hailey Cohen,
Catalina Edwards,
Sydney Granack,
Katelyn Thompson,
Callie Wakefield, and
Sofia Lantz.
The 5000m will see Wadsworth, Belmahdi, Ashley, Perry, and Reid run for the men, and
Grace Johnson for the women.
Both genders will have their full squads for the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.
The men currently hold the second fastest 4x100m in the nation (39.03) from Lincoln,
Metelus, Croal, and
Saminu as well as the sixth fastest 4x400m relay from
Reid, Moronta, Metelus, and Bouie (3:02.16).
The women are just as present in the nation's top-25 relay rankings, Allers-Liburd, Peterson, Burton, and Benjamin have the 13th-ranked 4x100m time in the nation (44.05) and the eighth-ranked 4x400m relay time (3:30.77).
The men are sending
Devontie Archer, Jones,
Michael Bourne III,
Darian Mills,
Tyler Drew, and
Joshua Crum to compete in the 400m hurdles.
The women are sending
Chakiya Plummer and
Nischa King to compete in the 100m hurdles.
FIELD
In the pole vault, the men are sending
Kobe Babin (10
th in NCAA, 5.40m/17' 8.50"),
Noah Bitter, and
Andreas Kreiss. The women will send
Elizabeth Lydon,
Audrey Wuerffel,
Ella Dolce and
Madeline Dutz.
In long jump,
Goodness Iredia, Kendell Moley, and
Elisha Teneus-Claude will compete for the men. The women are sending
Nischa King, Benjamin, Ryan Lewis, Mimansa Dahiya, and
Kendall McDaniel to jump.
In high jump, the men are sending
Mosley and
Teneus-Claude, while the women are sending McDaniel,
Molie Jean Baptiste, and
Annia Ashley.
In the triple jump, the men will send Teneus-Claude and the women, Dahiya, Ashley, and King.
For the hammer, only the women will compete and will send
Alliya Boothe,
Annalee Harbison, and
Alexandria Hunter.
In the shot put, the men will have
Aidan Marsh throw, while the women will have Hunter and Jazmyn James throw.
Discus will see Marsh and
Vincent Ugwoke both throw for the men, with James and Harbison throwing for the women.

The USF track and field men's team won the 2024 Indoor AAC Championship. Romaine Beckford won the 2023 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the men's high jump as a Bull. The team has earned 56 All-America selections and at least one All-American in 10 of the last 12 years, including a record eight athletes claiming 11 honors in 2021. Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program record earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Bulls have posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020 and in the 2021 outdoor season the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium located on the east end of campus.
