Tudorica, Grevelius earn AAC Men’s Tennis All-Conference honors

Alvin Tudorica was named All-Conference in both singles and doubles with teammate Erik Grevelius.

IRVING, Texas (May 1, 2024) – The American Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday its 2024 All-Conference Teams, including a pair of Bulls from the University of South Florida. Alvin Tudorica was named All-AAC in singles while he and partner Erik Grevelius earned All-Conference accolades in doubles play.

Tudorica and Grevelius also earned All-Conference honors in 2023 in doubles.

A four-year member of the South Florida men's tennis team, Tudorica earned All-Conference accolades in singles for the first time after a career year. He went 14-9 on Court 1 to button up an outstanding 2023-24 season where he burst onto the scene in singles action.

Tudorica was the runner-up at the ITA Regionals in October which qualified him for the National Fall Championships where he made a run to the quarterfinals. He was later named the AAC Player of the Month for October and went on to earn AAC Player of the Week honors in February. He entered the spring ranked No. 27 by the ITA and maintained a national ranking for the majority of the season.

As a duo, Tudorica and Grevelius opened the 2023-24 season ranked No. 24 and moved up to No. 9 nationally as the spring slate began after reaching the semifinals the semifinals of the ITA Southeast Regional and advancing to the ITA Fall Championships. The doubles team went 15-7 on Court 1 and maintained a spot in the rankings for most of the season.

Grevelius transferred to South Florida for the 2022-23 season after spending his first three years at Georgia.

Head coach Ashley Fisher is in his eighth year at the helm of the program for the 2023-24 season. Fischer has guided the Bulls to four NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the second round. He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
