TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 24, 2024 – South Florida men's soccer (0-1) hosts Mercer (0-1) at Corbett Stadium on Sunday night at 7 p.m. and the match will stream live on ESPN+.
 
SETTING THE STAGE
USF continues the hunt for its first victory and home win of the 2024 season. The Bulls lost their season opener against No. 23 Seattle, 4-1, on Thursday. The Bears are also looking for their first win of the season, as they are coming off a 3-1 loss to No. 19 UCF.
 
SOUTH FLORIDA-MERCER SERIES
USF and Mercer will meet for the seventh time in program history. The Bulls are looking to collect their sixth all-time win against the Bears and their fifth at home. In the most recent meeting, Mercer topped South Florida, 2-0 (Sept. 1, 2023).
 
LAST TIME OUT
South Florida fell in season-opening action to No. 23 Seattle, 4-1, on Thursday. Freshman forward Asher Jones scored his first collegiate goal and USF's first goal of the season.
 
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Mercer fell, 3-1, at No. 19 UCF in its season opener on Thursday night. Sekou Agard scored the Bear's lone goal and Nick Wanzer, and Woodi Pondeca had the assist.

A LOOK AHEAD
The Bulls will be back in action on Thursday, Aug. 29, as they welcome Eckerd College to Corbett Stadium. The match will air live on ESPN+ and kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

USF Men's Soccer competed in the school's first-ever intercollegiate athletic contest on Sept. 25, 1965, beating Florida Southern 4-3. Men's Soccer has two Alumni and a coach in the USF Athletics Hall of Fame: Fergus Hopper and Jeff Attinella, & Dan Holcomb. Cunningham has also been selected to join the USF Athletics Hall of Fame this Fall.

The Bulls have reached the NCAA Tournament 13 times over the past 22 seasons.
