TAMPA (January 14, 2024) – The University of South Florida women's tennis team opened its spring slate with competition at the Florida Invitational in Gainesville on January 11-12. The Bulls posted four doubles victories over the two-day event in matches against players from Florida and Florida State.
On the opening day of action, the freshman duo of Sienna Leeson/Charlotte Ruud paired for a win, as did the team of Melisa Senli/Dharani Niroshan. Both pairs won their doubles matches by 6-3 scores over Florida State. In singles play, Rudd and Senli both took their opponent from Florida State to three sets before eventually dropping their respective matches.
On the final day, the team of Senli/Niroshan tallied a 7-5 win over Florida while the freshman pair of Margherita Marcon/Karine Kulidjian posted a 6-3 victory over Florida State.

The Bulls will travel to College Station, Texas for the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by Texas A&M on January 24-25. South Florida will first take on host Texas A&M on Friday, January 24 before facing either Denver or TCU on Saturday, January 25.

Head coach Cristina Moros, a former collegiate national champion and four-time All-American, is in her 10th year at the helm entering the 2024-25 season. She was named the 2017 AAC Coach of the Year after leading the Bulls to the conference championship that season.
