USF Men’s Basketball Looks to Bounce Back Against Tulsa on Saturday

TAMPA, Fla. (January 17, 2025) – The Yuengling Center will be the prime destination for USF students as the University of South Florida men's basketball team hosts Tulsa for a matinee matchup. The Bulls and Golden Hurricane are scheduled for a 3 p.m. tip on ESPN+. Saturday's game is presented by Integrity Express Logistics.
 
On Saturday, South Florida will celebrate and recognize all military members. The first 1,500 fans will receive patriotic USF rally towels. The South Florida women's team will play Florida Atlantic at 6 p.m. All fans who have a ticket to the men's game can redeem a free general admission ticket for the women's game at guest services located at Gate A.  
 
Cooking with Reid
Jayden Reid recorded a career-high 26 points against UAB. Along with the 26 points, he shot 50.0 percent from 3-point range. He is one of 11 players in USF history to score at least 26 points and shoot 50.0 percent or better from long distance in a single game.

Jayden Reid is one of 11 DI players this season to lead his team in scoring, made 3-pointers, made free throws, assists, and steals. Reid is the only American Athletic Conference player leading his team in the five categories this season. The only South Florida player to finish a season leading the team in all five categories was Tyler Harris in 2022-23.
 
Big Three
Jamille Reynolds, De'Ante Green, and Jimmie Williams are all shooting better than 50.0 percent from the field. South Florida is one of three programs in the AAC to have three guys shooting above 50.0 percent with at least 70 attempts. The other two teams are Florida Atlantic and UAB.

USF is tied for 76th in the country and fifth in the AAC with a free-throw percentage of 74.8 percent.
 
Stout Long-Range Defense
The Bulls have held opponents to 31.4 percent from 3-point range. USF is tied for 98th in the NCAA and third in the AAC in 3-point defense.

South Florida is 19th in the nation and third in the conference with 15.47 fastbreak points per game.

The Bulls are 41st in the NCAA and third in the AAC, averaging 28.71 bench points per game. The USF bench has only been outscored five times this season. South Florida is holding opponents to 19.53 bench points per game.

About USF Men's Basketball
The University of South Florida men's basketball, led by interim head coach Ben Fletcher, is a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls enter their 2024-25 campaign, presented by Tampa General Hospital, on the heels of their best season in program history, in which they claimed their first-ever regular season conference title, won a record 25 games, and earned a Top 25 ranking for the first time in program history.
