USF Volleyball’s Garvin and Andrade Take American Weekly Honors

Raegan Richardson earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team.

TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 27, 2025) – Middle blocker Iyanna Garvin and outside hitter Maria Clara Andrade have swept this week's American Conference Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week honors, while setter Raegan Richardson was named an Honorable Mention. The league announced on Monday.

Garvin is earning her first American Conference honor of her career and is the first Defensive Player of the Week since February 22, 2021, when CC Clausen earned the honor. Garvin finished the weekend with 14 total blocks, averaging 2.00 per set. She accompanied her 14 blocks with seven kills.

Andrade is earning her second Offensive Player of the Week award this season. In two matches, she recorded 31 kills, averaging 4.43 per set. On Sunday, she led the match with 21 kills. Andrade accompanied her 31 kills with 17 digs and four blocks. She averaged 2.43 digs per set.

Richardson earned a spot on this week's honorable mention team. She dished out 74 assists, averaging 10.57 assists per set. Richardson recorded eight kills over the weekend, matching a season-high of seven against Charlotte. She averaged 1.86 digs per set.

South Florida will look to stretch its win streak as it welcomes the Tulsa Golden Hurricane and the Wichita State Shockers to the Corral this Friday and Sunday. It's the first time both teams have traveled to Tampa since the 2021 season. Friday's match is set for 6 p.m., while Sunday's match is set for 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

 

Friday's match will be the Bulls' "Back in Black" match, where fans are encouraged to wear black. On Sunday, the Bulls will honor service members with their annual "Salute to Service" match.

Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her sixth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2025.
